Faith & a Simple Life
With Christmas in the rearview mirror and the break of a New Year on the horizon, I’m offering you a moment to reflect on where you would like your future to take you.
Today, instead of focusing on resolutions and goals, take time to reflect on the lessons you learned throughout the past year. Take stock of the highs and lows, look for the lessons and moments of growth, and find ways to be grateful for each experience.
Reflect on how greeting this new year feels to you. Search for things that can help you feel at peace, fulfilled, and connected to not only your simple lifestyle, but also to those who surround you. Allow these feelings to guide your intentions for the new year. Focusing on your feelings rather than strict goals can bring more meaning and flexibility to your new year.
Stop and think about the things that have held you back from becoming the person you most want to be. There is an intrinsic value of letting go of anything that no longer serves you, whether it is physical clutter, stressful commitments or limited beliefs. Letting go of those things can open up the room you need for clarity and new growth and allow you to begin your new year with a lighter heart.
Settle in for a quiet moment and think about reconnecting with your purpose, passions, and dreams. Find ways to reconnect with the ones that bring you joy and weave them into your new year, whether they be a new direction you’ve been wanting to go, building better relationships with the people in your life, learning or building on the hobbies you love, finding more time to offer kindness and generosity to others, or even more intentional self-care.
And through all of your reflections, find ways to focus on enjoying small, simple pleasures that can brighten your days. Whether it’s in keeping a “simple joys” journal, taking time to savor moments, or establishing rituals that fill your heart with gratitude, it will be these small pleasures that help this new year be one of the best and most successful years of your life.
I’m wishing you the Happiest of New Years, filled with wonder, awe, and a simple life with plenty of room to Relax and Enjoy!
